The RADIANS research program is sponsored by multiple US federal agencies and national laboratories:
- National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA): the NNSA Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation sponsors our research to detect, find, identify, and characterize special nuclear material (SNM) usable in nuclear weapons, and characterize nuclear fallout to identify nuclear explosive properties. RADIANS is a partner in the NNSA academic Consortium for Nuclear Forensics.
- Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of Defense (DoD) sponsored our research on the forensic analysis of irradiated nuclear materials and post-detonation nuclear fallout
- Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC): the NRC sponsored our research to develop new methods for digital data acquisition (DAQ) and digital signal processing (DSP) of fission neutron and gamma measurements
- Sandia National Laboratories (SNL): RADIANS and Sandia partnered to develop a high-efficiency neutron scatter camera to find and image fission neutron sources
- Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL): RADIANS and Oak Ridge are working to develop new methods to identify materials in neutron tomographic imaging measurements of assemblies containing special nuclear material
- Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL): RADIANS and Los Alamos are collaborating to develop new analyses of critical and subcritical measurements of special nuclear material
