B.S. student Mark Delgado wins innovation grant

Mark Delgado developed a radiation detector network using smartphones to communicate between sensors and locate radiation sources by triangulation. Mark has established his own company, Koyr Engineering, to develop and market these instruments, and Koyr recently received a research grant from National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA), now known as VentureWell. Mark has published a conference proceedings paper on his work, he gave an invited talk on entrepreneurship at Meredith College, and his work was featured on the NCSU homepage in 2013 (see http://www.ncsu.edu/features/?p=9001).
